Above: Katz Jackson driving Feather Ridge Talon (Bethesda Horus x Feather Ridge Ballerina) attend
competitive distance driving events as members of the Midwest Distance Driving Association (MDDA).
They compete around the state doing 10 to 20 mile drives, and do very well. They also send their results
in to AMHA in the Open Competition division and received a beautiful plaque for their efforts last year as
Champion
in the Novice/Competitive Trail Class. Talon is homozygous black like Horus and the Jacksons
are
very proud of her driving performances.
Below: Gary Jackson, riding Bethesda Horus, their stallion in a Cowboy Mounted Shooting event.
Bethesda Horus (Wyoming Flyhawk x Coal Creek Ebonybess) has been AMHA Open Show National
Champion and Reserve National Champion based on points collected doing Cowboy Mounted Shooting.
The Jacksons feel that Morgan involvement in western and cavalry shooting events helps to represent
the historic role that the Morgan Horse played in the Civil War and in the settling of the West. Horus
also drives and has been Midwest Limited Distance Driving Champion.
